Dammit! They did it again.

In an attempt NOT to be evil, Godgle has gone out and tried to be GOD again (or Big-Brother at least!). Yes, it seems they are totally disregarding over 100 years of copyright law - and making their own new law that suites their needs.

Here’s an excerpt from Brad Hill:

During the interim, Google has invited publishers to opt out of the program. Gracious as this gesture might be, it makes Google appear to be completely unaware of how copyright works. Copyright is the opting out of allowing others to make copies. Nothing more is needed. The responsibility for not copying lies with Google. Exemptions and licenses to copy are granted upon request on an opt-in basis. It’s inconceivable that Google is unaware of this, so the real message from Google is this: “We’re going to copy the damn books unless you stop us.”

Read more here about what’s happening - I think you’ll find this interesting.

And OH MY GODGLE! A lawsuit against Google is now pending from a mild PORN SITE alleging copyright infringement.

“IT WAS PORN THAT BUILT THIS HERE INTERNET, GENTLEMEN (and ladies :) ).”

I think I’m going to start copying music from P2P networks, and offer them free online from my own website - I’ll call all the record companies though - and tell them to call me if they don’t want me to copy their stuff. I mean, if Godgle can do it - why can’t I?

And, as well as making new laws that only apply to them - Google’s IPO raised some eyebrows at the SEC. Check this out:
- from the San Fransico Chronicle - full article:

When Google Inc. filed to go public last year, the groundbreaking Internet search firm stunned Wall Street by placing a letter to investors atop their prospectus, pledging among other things to make “the world a better place.”

Letters between Google and the SEC show that the federal regulators were not amused by the idealistic exuberance of the search firm’s founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin.

Congrats guys. We’ve needed a new God for a long time… the old guy just can’t get seem to get anything done.

Can I join? How do I get a set of angel wings?

If this [GooglePark] doesn’t make you laugh about this [Godgle], then nothing will.
